Kasja Armbrog got the first goal just 51 seconds into the game to deflate the French right from the gate, and although they had two power plays later in the period, they could cause no damage.

Celine Tedenby made it 2-0 before the end of the first period, and the Swedes added three more in the second to pull away.

The loss leaves France 0-2 so far. It needs to beat Switzerland on Monday to have a chance for the playoffs. Failure to do so will result in moving to a best-of-three Relegation Round series.

The Swedes, meantime, are now 1-1 and lead Group B with six points. A win will gain the team entry into the playoffs; a loss will leave them vulnerable to other results.
